FAQ
WHERE DOES ''LE LIT DOUBLE'' COME FROM?
It's an expression familiar to residents of Saint-Jean-Baptiste for decades: Quebec City is like a big double bed, because everyone knows everyone else, like in a large village. They took the idea to a literal level by installing a real bed on the ceiling.
WHERE IS LE LIT DOUBLE?
Le Lit Double is located at 399 Saint-Jean Street, in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste district. It occupies a former bank, built by the same engineer as the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, just across the street.
WHAT IS THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE BAR?
Our restaurant-bar is unpretentious, young and vibrant. Run by three twenty-somethings from the Saint-Jean-Baptiste neighborhood, Le Lit Double aims to be an accessible and festive place, for dinner or for drinks!
DO YOU HAVE A TERRACE?
Yes! In the summer, our terrace, which seats about 25, offers an incredible view of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church. It's one of the best spots in the neighborhood to have a drink in the sun or later in the evening.
WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF THE BUILDING?
399 Saint-Jean Street has a long history: first a bank, then a general store, before becoming a restaurant. It was once Carthage, then Pub Le Projet, and today it's Le Lit Double!
WHAT TYPES OF DRINKS DO YOU OFFER?
Le Lit Double serves craft beers, cocktails, and wine. The menu features a variety of drinks to suit different tastes. Beers range from $7 to $10 a pint. The wine list is accessible, and we always have a selection of white or orange wines on tap for $10 a glass.
WHAT TYPE OF CUISINE DO YOU OFFER?
Our menu explores the concept of "bar food around the world," always including a vegetarian and vegan section. We update it a few times a year, and our 5-course sharing menu is offered at $30 per person. The best value in town!
DO YOU HAVE ANY VEGAN/VEGETARIAN OPTIONS?
Yes. Part of our menu is always vegan, and several dishes can be adapted to make them vegetarian. Feel free to mention it to our team on site.
WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS?
Le Lit Double is open from 3 pm to 1 am Monday to Wednesday and on Sunday. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the bar is open from 3 pm to 3 am.
DO I NEED TO BOOK?
Reservations are optional: you can book through our online system , but it's not mandatory and there's a good turnover. Walk-ins are always welcome, just drop by whenever you like! :)
